CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS: Do not use if safety seal is broken. Check with your health care practitioner before using this product if you have any medical conditions including a kidney disorder, diabetes or digestive disorders. Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen. If you are taking medications including hormone replacement therapy (HRT), birth control pills, carbidopa or drugs/ supplements with serotonergic activity (which may include, but are not limited to, L-tryptophan, S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), St. John's wort, antidepressants, pain killers, over the counter cough and cold medication containing dextromethorphan, anti-nausea medication and anti-migraine medication), consult a health care practitioner prior to use. If you are taking antidepressant medication, consult a health care practitioner prior to use. Consumption with alcohol, other drugs and/or natural health products with sedative properties is not recommended. If you are taking any other medications or natural health products, consult a health care practitioner prior to use, as black pepper/piperine may alter their effectiveness. Some people may experience drowsiness. Exercise caution if operating heavy machinery, driving a motor vehicle or involved in activities requiring mental alertness. Some people may experience diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Discontinue use if you experience irritability or insomnia. Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if you show signs of weakness, oral ulcers, or abdominal pain accompanied by severe muscle pain or if you experience skin changes. Do not use if you may become pregnant, are pregnant or nursing. Do not use this product if you have bipolar disorder, bipolar spectrum disorder, or scleroderma . Do not exceed recommended daily intake. Not intended for use by persons under 18. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Store in a cool, dry place.
Directions: (adults) take three (3) liquid soft-gels daily with a meal and a full glass of water (240 ml). To minimize the risk of gastrointestinal side effects from 5-HTP, take one (1) liquid soft-gel (50 mg) 3 times per day.
Recommended duration of use: use for a minimum of 1 week to see beneficial effects. Consult a health care practitioner for use beyond 12 weeks.
