Breast milk is best for babies and is recommended for as long as possible during infancy. Similac® Lower Iron is iron-fortified at lower levels than other Similac® formulas.
Your baby's health depends on carefully following these directions. Proper hygiene, preparation, mixing and storage are important when using infant formula. Failure to follow these directions could result in severe harm. Use as directed by your health care professional.

WARNING: Powdered infant formulas are not sterile and should not be fed to preterm, low-birth-weight or immunocompromised infants unless directed and supervised by a health care professional. Never use a microwave oven to warm formula; serious burns can result. Test temperature before feeding to avoid scalding baby's mouth.

DIRECTIONS FOR PREPARATION AND USE: 1. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water. 2. Sterilize [equipment]: Place washed bottles, nipples, rings, caps and all preparation equipment in boiling water and keep at a rolling boil for 2 minutes. Sterilize [water]: In another pot, bring water to a rolling boil for 2 minutes. Cool to room temperature. 3. Prepare formula using enclosed scoop. Return dry scoop to container. 4. Cap bottle; shake well; attach nipple. Once feeding begins, use within 1 hour or discard.
STORAGE: Once mixed, refrigerate bottles immediately; use within 24 hours. Store container under normal room temperature conditions. Once opened, use contents within 1 month.
