How does this medication work? what will it do for me?
Micatin belongs to the class of medications called antifungals. It is used to treat various skin infections caused by fungus or yeast. Micatin can be used to treat tinea pedis (athlete's foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea corporis (ringworm), candidiasis (various yeast infections of the skin and mucous membranes), and tinea versicolor (patches of skin that are a different colour than the rest of the skin). Micatin works by killing the overgrowth of yeast and fungus that are causing the infection. It usually starts to work within a few days of starting treatment. Treatment may be needed for up 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the infection being treated.
