Sodium phosphates oral solution, USP
Medicinal ingredients: each teaspoonful (5 ml) contains: monobasic sodium phosphate, USP 2.4 g and dibasic sodium phosphate, USP 0.9 g. Non-medicinal ingredients: glycerin, natural grape flavour, purified water, sodium benzoate and sodium saccharin.
CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS: Do not administer along with other laxatives. A laxative should not be taken within 2 hours of another medicine because the desired effect of the other medicine may be reduced. Overuse or extended use may cause dependence for bowel function. Do not take any type of laxative for more than one week unless advised by your physician.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Do not use this product if you are on a low salt diet, are suffering from kidney disease, bowel obstruction, or congestive heart failure. Do not use when abdominal pain, nausea, fever or vomiting are present. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless directed by a physician. DO NOT USE IF SAFETY SEAL UNDER CAP IS TAMPERED OR BROKEN. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, contact a physician immediately. Store between (15-30°C).
Single daily dosage: Laxative: adults and children 13 years and older: 4 teaspoons (20 ml) children aged 10 to 12 years: 2 teaspoons (10 ml) children aged 6 to 9 years: 1 teaspoon (5 ml) children under 6 years: consult a physician.
Purgative: adults only: 3 tablespoons (45 ml). Use under the supervision of a physician. When administered orally, bowel movement is produced in 1/2 to 6 hours, depending on dosage. Do not exceed recommended dosage.
Directions: best taken on an empty stomach. Dilute dosage with one-half glass (120 ml) of cool water. Drink, then follow with one glass of cool water (240 ml). Most effective when taken upon rising, at least 30 minutes before a meal, or at bedtime.
