Warning and cautions
Consult your physician if vomiting, diarrhea or fever persists for longer than 24 hours. For children under two years of age, consult your physician. Consult a healthcare practitioner if you have any medical problems relating to kidney or heart function, blood pressure, gastrointestinal function or show signs of sever dehydration including shock or are unable to drink. Consult a health care practitioner for prolonged exercise (3 hours or more or recurring dehydrating conditions.
Recommended use
Start taking Hydralyte to prevent dehydration on the first signs of fluid loss due to vomiting and diarrhea, and heavy sweating caused by heat and vigorous or prolonged exercise. For dehydration due to heavy sweating cause by heat and vigorous or prolonged exercise consult a healthcare practitioner for use beyond 3 days. When there is vomiting and diarrhea, use Hydralyte rather than juices, soft drinks, sports drinks or water to manage dehydration. Sip small amounts regularly. Continue with breast or formula feeding of infants between sips of Hydralyte.
Directions for use
1 Mix Hydralyte immediately before required
2 Fill measuring cup to 200 mL with fresh cold drinking water (for babies under 6 months it is recommended to use cool boiled water).
3 Empty the contents of one sachet into the cup and stir the mixture until the Hydralyte has dissolved.
4 Sip slowly and frequently while symptoms persist.
5 Discard unused solution after 2 hours or 24 hours if refrigerated.
6 Only mix with water.
