WARNINGS: Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if symptoms of digestive upset (e.g. diarrhea) occur, worsen or persist beyond 3 days. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have an abnormal condition of the gastrointestinal tract lining. The concurrent administration of Saccharomyces boulardii lyo and intestinally acting antimycotics may decrease the efficacy of Saccharomyces boulardii lyo. Treatment does not replace rehydration when this is necessary. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Do not use in the acute-care setting with critically ill patients, especially in those individuals with open arterial and venous access required. Do not use for any individual with a central line or port or in the surroundings of any patient with a central line or port. Central lines include short- and long-term central venous catheters (CVCs) and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs). Do not use and consult a health care practitioner if you are severely immunocompromised, have an immune-compromised condition. Do not use if you are experiencing nausea, fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhea or severe abdominal pain. Do not use if you have hypersensitivity to any component of the product (especially allergy to yeast). Known ADVERSE REACTIONS: Rarely: flatulence, constipation, and thirst. In some cases: pruritus, rash, angioedema. Very rarely: anaphylactic reaction, fungemia and/or sepsis.
DO NOT USE IF SEAL IS BROKEN. STORE AT 15-30° C IN DRY AREA.
Recommended dose: children (3 months to 2 yo): take 1 stick daily (maximum 1 stick per day); (2 years and older): take 1 stick 1-3 times a day (maximum of 3 sticks per day) to prevent, treat and/or reduce symptoms of diarrhea. To reduce the risk of traveler's diarrhea, start 5 days prior to the trip and continue through the entire duration. To help reduce CDAD, take 1 sachet, 2-3 times a day.
Can be taken simultaneously with any antibiotic course.
